Read the whole product page
Each product page shows the brand, title, price, size with international conversions, condition and colour and, when available, measurements in centimetres. Read these details together rather than relying on the brand or the price alone.
Start with the measurements
A size label tells you little on its own. Sizing differs between brands, and a piece made years ago may fit differently from a recent one. Compare the measurements in the description with a garment you own, and use the size guide for conversions.
Understand the condition labels
Each piece carries one of four labels: New with tags, New without tags, Very good condition or Good condition. As a general rule, the first two refer to new pieces and the last two to pieces that have been worn. The How it works page explains how the labels are used. Whatever the label, read the description and look at every photo: they show what a label cannot summarise.
Study the photos
Zoom in on the areas that wear first:
- collars, cuffs, underarms and hems on clothing;
- elbows and sides on knitwear, where bobbles form;
- corners, handles, straps and the inside of bags;
- soles, heels and insoles on shoes.
Compare the colour given in the description with the photos: screens can render a shade slightly differently.
Check materials and construction
The composition tells you what upkeep to expect: wool, silk and leather need more care than cotton or polyester. Look at the lining, which should be intact and clean, at the seams, which should be straight and closed, and at the buttons, which should all be present and firmly sewn. The brand label and the care label, when they are visible in the photos, complete the picture. Compare the logo, the stitching and the finish with what you know of the brand.

Unique pieces sell once
Every piece is second-hand and unique: there is only one of each reference. Once it is sold, it does not come back. If the size, the condition and the price suit you, do not wait too long.
